Camera Profile Installation Help

STEP 1: Verify Your Camera Body's Current Firmware

  • the Yellow Toolbox icon > Setup > Scroll down to #13 Setup Option > and Select Version

Depending on when you purchased your camera, it may have an earlier version or later version firmware.

My camera is currently set to the Camera Body version 1.01. (As of 2nd Quarter 2024)

If yours in an earlier version, you may not have the 4k 120p license installed is usually a sign of being on an older firmware.

This could impact it why it's not loading. Most cameras are coming with the 4k 120p license installed already once that's released, so you may be good to go here.

Once you try the steps below first, if it's still not working, we may revisit updating the camera firmware to match, just to be sure that's not causing any issue.

From here, we can move into creating the necessary folder on your SD card to accept the camera settings file.

STEP 2: Start with a Clear SD Card

Next, start with a clean SD card formatted inside the camera. (Ensure you're in Movie mode.)

  • The Red Movie icon > #2 Media > Select Format.

From here, make sure your camera is not in a Memory Recall mode.

This can be changed by swiping right on your screen and the top left icon will open the Shoot Mode setting.

Go into "Manual Exposure" mode, the "M" icon with fireworks on the screen.

Now, let's move into creating the necessary folder on your SD card to accept the camera settings file.

STEP 3: Installing the Sony ZV-E1 Settings | STEP BY STEP

Let's begin by creating the necessary folder and save any current settings you have on your camera now.

(Even if it's not settings you enjoy, it's always good to save what you have currently to go back to if you ever reset your camera.)

  • Go to the Yellow Toolbox icon > #2 Reset/Save Settings > Select Save/Load Settings and select Save > Select Save New.

You can leave the file name saved as CAMSET01 if you like. For this example, I will.

Select OK when it's done saving and says "Complete" on your camera screen.

Take your SD card out your camera, you can save that file to your computer for use later if you like or delete it.

For this example, I'll be deleting the file only, keeping the folder intact.

On your computer, go to your SD card, select the following:

  • Select Private > Sony > Setting > E1 > CAMSET

This is where you'll see the file you just saved.

Delete this file or remove it, and drag and drop the file you received from your email.

If there are extra characters that are added for the .zip file that the website auto adds, delete or retype to only say "DGSET_E1.dat.zip" for the zip file.

Double-click on the .zip file to open it.

Safely disconnect and eject your SD card from your computer once successful.

Reinsert your memory card into your camera and do the following:

  • Select the Yellow Toolbox icon > #2 Reset/Save Settings > Select Save/Load Settings and Select Load

The next screen you will see will be the Load File screen, where you see the file "DGSET_E1" file.

Select it, and it will take you to a screen confirming you want to load the file.

It may ask if you want to "Overwrite the device's settings" to load the DGSET_E1 profile.

Select "OK" and the file will load onto your camera.

When following these steps, if at a certain point you run into an issue or see anything different and your firmware is different, you may need to update your camera firmware information to install the profile.
